The municipality of Senator Ninoy Aquino in Sultan Kudarat comes alive this month with the SuloKape Festival, running from February 4 to 17—a celebration that honors both local heritage and the community’s growing pride in coffee culture.

True to its name, SuloKape is a fusion of two meaningful traditions: the Sulok Festival, which showcases local history, arts, and cultural identity, and the Kape Festival, which highlights coffee, farmers, and locally crafted products. Together, they create a lively space where tradition meets livelihood—reminding visitors that culture isn’t only something to remember, but also something communities actively live and build on.

This year’s festival theme—“SuloKape: Daloy ng Kasaysayan, Yaman ng Kultura, Kasaganaan Hatid Tungo sa ika-37 taon ng Senator Ninoy Aquino”—sets the tone for a full calendar of activities designed to bring people together. Festival highlights include a coffee summit, a mass wedding, an agro-fair, a bazaar, a carnival, “disco sa kalye,” and a variety of competitions and community events.

Whether you’re drawn by the cultural showcases, curious about local coffee, or simply looking to experience a community celebration in Mindanao, the SuloKape Festival is a vibrant reminder of the stories, traditions, and local industries that keep provinces thriving.
